Is the Drought Over?
We’re getting plenty of rain this year – even flooding in some areas. Snow pack is double seasonal averages in some parts of the Sierra and reservoirs are full. We’re hearing California’s five year drought may be over. However, Jeanine Jones, California’s Interstate water resources manager, cautions Californians that the underground reservoirs will take years to refill in some areas and we don’t know whether our heavy rain will continue throughout the winter. (Time magazine, Jan. 30, 2017, p. 9) Plus, with agriculture and the growing population putting constant stress on the state’s water resources, water conservation is the new normal.
Saving water is still as important as ever. I expect continued growth in the demand for low moisture and dry carpet cleaning. Besides the environmental benefits, these methods are better for healthy homes. Less water means cleaner carpet. Spots do not return and the risk of mold and mildew is greatly reduced. Plus, we don’t have to wait for a sunny day. You can still use your carpet immediately after cleaning with Host Dry and in 3 hours with our low moisture system.
Please help me spread the word. There’s a better way to clean carpet and area rugs. When you do and your friend books an appointment, you will receive a coupon for 15% off your next cleaning.
